Beattie was charged on August 29, 1973, with failing to file employer's quarterly federal tax returns for the last three quarters of 1970 and the first two quarters of 1971. Upon his plea of guilty to count five of the charge, Assistant U.S. Attorney Rodney Snow moved to have the other four counts dismissed. Judge Ritter granted the motion and asked for a presentence report from the probation officer. No date, was set for sentencing on Mr. Beattie.
