Saturday brought the girls from Grand. To move up to the 4th spot in region 12 the girls needed another win and fought back from an early 13 to 1 deficit. They never gave up and had to play had to the end to get the victory they needed. We had three scorers in double figures Bailie had 16 Koral had 14 and Teigan had 13. Gentry was able to get her highest assist total of the year with 7 to go along with her 4 points and 7 rebounds. Teigan led the team with 10 rebound for another double double. Koral followed her with 8 boards. Bailie Cheyenne and Kacey combined for 6 rebounds. The girls came back from 12 down to build a lead of 9. Grand fought back in the fourth quarter with two late three pointers to cut into the Bulldog lead but the girls were able to hold them off and win the game with the final score of 48 to 43. The girls are in 4th place in region play. They have two games remaining , playing Manti on Tuesday at home and then go the number one ranked team of South Sevier on Thursday. Good luck girls!!! BULLDOGS Continued from Page 8 standings at 3-7. It also guaranteed the Bulldogs a spot in the post-season. Heading into the last week of the season, South Sevier leads Region 12 at 9-1, followed by Richfield and San Juan at 73. Manti is fourth at 6-4, with Gunnison and North Sevier at 3-7. Grand is 0-10. South Sevier can clinch the league title with one win this week. In the other 2A leagues, Millard is 8-0 and they’ve clinched the Region 13 title with two games left. Parowan is second at 5-3, followed by Beaver and Kanab at 4-4, Enterprise at 3-5, and Cross Creek Academy is 0-8. North Summit are the Region 14 champs, but Rowland Hall, South Summit, Layton Christian, and American Leadership Academy are all tied for second in that league with 4-4 records. Each team has two games left. Juab is 1-7 and they’ll miss the post-season, as will Grand and Cross Creek. Kevin Nay continues to lead all 2A scorers at 21.4 points per game. Derrick Christensen is tenth in scoring at 14.4 ppg. The Bulldogs play at Manti Wednesday, Feb. 6th at 7 pm. Two nights later the Bulldogs finish up the regular season at home against South Sevier, and it’s senior night for Bulldog seniors Kevin Nay, Taylor Newman, and Jeremy Reid. 2 col. ADVERTISE HERE!
