Tim Hughes led the Moquis with 23 points, Taylor had 13, while Tyson Westwood had a game high 25 for the Thunderbirds. BOBCAT DUO RACK UP 56 Between the two of them, the Panguitch Bobcat’s Trac Norris (34) and Eric Frandsen (22) scored just 3 points less the the entire Milford team, Friday at Panguitch, clobbering the Tigers 80 to 59. FRANDSEN LEADS CATS OVER T BIRDS Eric Frandsen’s game high 19 points and his control of the boards led the Bobcats to a 53 to 44 win over Piute , at Junction. Trac Norris was in double figures with 14, as was Brooks Leach with 12. The road victory improved that Cats to 3 and 0 in Region, and 9 and1 overall. BADGERS NIP LADY BOBCATS Leading 11 to 0 after one quarter of play, the Panguitch offense went steadily down hill from there, putting up just 19 points in the next three quarters, to drop a 36 to 30 decision at Wayne, Thursday. Chelsie Barney led the Bobcat scoring with 9 points and Kalani Norris chipped in 8. The loss drops the Lady Bobcats to 2 and 3 in Region and 8 and 4 overall. LADY BOBCATS TAME TIGERS Tuesday, at Milford, the Panguitch Lady Bobcats jumped out to a 19 point half time lead and coasted to an easy 52 - 26 victory. The Cats out scored Milford 23 to 8 from the floor in racking up their 2nd Region win. Kalani Norris led all scores with 23, Chelsie Barney 12, and Shelby Taylor had 9. Three New Garfield County School Board Members Take the Oath of Office Gregg Christensen, Ted Chidester, and Brian Bremner took the Oath of office in a ceremony witnessed by Panguitch Mayor Art Cooper at the Garfield County School District Office at 1:00 PM today. The ceremony was also observed by family members and the Garfield School District Office staff. Superintendent George Park administered the oath of office to each new member after reminding them of requirements to remain registered voters in the District and keep their primary residence within the local school board precinct from which they were elected. The new Board members join Gladys LeFevre and Ken Platt who are currently serving on the school board. Gregg Christensen, Ted Chidester, and Brian Bremner go right to work traveling this week to attend the Utah School Board Association’s annual convention in Salt Lake City. The new Board will meet on Thursday, January 8, 2009 in Salt Lake City for their first meeting. On the agenda is the business of electing a new School Board President, appointing a new representative to the Five County Association, and appointing a representative to the Applied Technology College Board. The Board will also discuss its vision for the future and familiarize itself on some of the issues before it. The trees and shrubs available include conifers, deciduous trees and a wide variety of shrubs that are adapted to the area. They range in size from 8” to 4 feet. Windbreaks, shelter belts and wildlife habitat make excellent uses with this plant stock. For more information and an order form, visit the Garfield County Extension Office located at 55 S. Main in Panguitch (435) 676-1113. You can also call the UACD Office for a brochure at (435) 676-8189. Trees will be available in midApril. Remember conservation doesn’t cost, it pays! EMT basic training class Garfield County Ambulance will be offering an EMT basic training class, starting Jan 30th and Ending April 25th 2009. (If the number of Enrollees does not meet the minium required, the class will be canceled). The ambulance is in need of dedicated volunteer EMT’s throughout the county.
