Show OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER OF EMERY COUNTY IPgg SERVING THE COMMUNITIES OF CASTLE DALE, ORANGEVILLE, HUNTINGTON, FERRON, EMERY, MOORE, CLEVELAND, CLAWSON, MOLEN, ELMO AND GREENRIVER YEAR and flying, along with a little Military discipline, our daily Former Elmo Man schedule is surely a busy one. I Dies At Home enjoy it however, especially when one realizes we have a war to win. When I picked up the issue of the Progress with the picture of the ATSs in formation, along with the very fine write up of Lt. Mac Bunderson and Lt. I had to look twice to make sure I wasnt reading a Kelly Field paper. I saw a similar formation fly over very often, while at San Antonio. The formations are especially interesting to see in a night flight. While at San Antonio, I visited the Alamo where Davy Crockett and other brave men died for freedom. It was very interesting. The day before our group moved into preflight school, I happened to see the graduating group move out. Very coincidental, out of the hundreds of Cadets there, who should have passed, just getting on the bus to ship out, but Victor Bunderson from Emery. Did it ever seem good to see some one from Emery county. I definitely shook his hand like I might have been running for Congress. Very truly yours, Avc Robert D. Iitster Sim-onse- n, In American Fork AMERICAN FORK Luther Dee Childs, 25, of American Fork died Saturday at 8 p. m. in a Salt Lake City hospital of a heart ailment. Mr. Childs married Venola Hansen of Lehi, Decemer 23, 1936. Surviving are his widow: his mother; two chidlren, Evalina Marie and Norman Bay Childs of American Fork; a Glenna Arlene Jones of American Fork and a er Neldon Oliver of the U. S. Army. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p. m. in the Alpine L. D. S. stake tabernacle by John W. Pulley, bishop of the American Fork Fourth ward. Burial will be in Lehi City step-chil- d, half-broth- Former Emery County Family Lose Home By Fire in California Castle. Dale City to Sponsor Scrap Driye reports From from other towns in the county, Castle Dale city is lagging behind in the of scrap metal, so essential for war production. To further foster patriotism in this community, the City Council is asking the citizens to assist the Salvage committee to gather in the scrap metal, old rubber and other strategic material so vitally needed by our government. The Boy Scouts have agreed to assist in gathering this scrap. Place what you have on the street, or better still let the Boy Scouts help you gather it up and give it to them. If you have too much to pile on the street, call phone 26-or 13X2 and a truck will call for it. Or contact Clyde ILowe, scoutmaster, or Alvin Wallace, mayor. o X Coast Company Plan Oil and J. E.
