LITERARY Week began Monday, Feb. 4 with a book fair at which students and parents were able to purchase an array of popu- - PTA Sponsors Chorus At Joseph Cook Elementary SYRACUSE - At the Joseph Cook Elementary School, the PTA Officers have arranged a very outstanding program to be held on Wednesday evening, Feb, 13, with the commencing time being 7 p.m. -- iterary well-cooke- THANKS Min. VARIOUS activities were set up for each da from Jan. 28 to Jan 31, at the school. The pm pose of the event was to honorand show appreciation to the administration, faculty, food service women, custodians and bus drivers, who provide the great many serv ices on a daily basis for all the children. On Friday morning the PTA prepared and served a Continental breakfast for all before school started np Kaysville Jr. Sponsors Pre-scho- ol By MICHELLE FRAUGHTON The seventh grade students of the Home he department at Kaysville Jr. High held a for three to four year old boys and girls. THESE children w ere welcomed into class with a few finger exerpre-scho- cises and songs. The children learned colors, numbers and different fingers from these finger exercises and songs. They enjoyed a story "Are You My Mother" by Mrs. Nelson. The children broke off into groups after the story was completed. There were three sections the group could visit, painting and discovery, fish pond and a dramatic plav. THE PRESCHOOL was held to provide the students with information on the special needs that children in this age group have. Not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally . Assembly Against Vandalism By LIZ COTTLE The vandalism assembly at Kaysville Jr. High occurred on Jan. 10 featuring several student-bod- y officers speaking on stealing, vandalism and drugs. V ANDAIJSM is in this town, a very real thing although many of us do not realize it. At home, do you write on your walls? Students were encouraged not to write on the walls at school either. Stealing is also a big problem in the school and can hurt our reputation. Dings can damage the brain and cause cancer and can kill. They can make von lose your memory so you can't remember what happened to you yesterday. ALCOHOL is a most deadly eapon. DU I is one of the biggest problems with today's kids. Some teenagers have a need to prove they aie great. Most kids drink when they are under pressure, but the pressure usually doesn't come from patents or teachers. I he biggest pressure is peer pressure. It's really sad that kids have to prove themselves to others.
