Mrs. Gloria Ashby of Clearfield has been chosen Woman of the Year by Lakeview Business and Professional Women's Club in recognition for her many contributions to the club and to the the community. Mrs Ashbv transferred from the SeV iVKfS tf She has been a member of the Ogden Chapter of Sweet Adelines since 1966, where she served as Corresponding Secretary, Social Chairman, Interchapter Relations Chairman, Historian, and two years as President In March 1976, she was elected Vice Regent for Region 8 comprising the states of Utah, Colorado, Montana, Idaho and part of Nevada Two weeks later she was moved up to Regent as the elected Regent could not fulfill her year. She has attended many of their National and International Conventions and competitions She was present at the convention in London this past fall and was among the group that sang for the Queen. She is also a member of the Federal Womens Club where she served three years as Treasurer, one year as President Elect, and one year as President Active in church affairs, she has directed a Beehive Chorus, Relief Society Chorus, and a Girls Chorus. She also has served as Choir Director and Speech Director and is presently organist for her ward. She was assistant chairman of the first Clearfield Days Celebration and has been active in civic affairs. Mrs Ashby was born in Colorado and moved to Salt Lake City in 1932. She married the late Horace Ashby in 1933 and is the mother of two sons and fone daughter. She has lived in Clearfield for the past 32 years.. At the present time, she is employed as an Inventory Management Specialist at Hill A.F.B. She has twenty-fiv- e years service with the government. Main, and the South Branch of the library, 725 S. Mam, Bountiful. The art center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a m. to 6 p m and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m Exhibits at the library can be visited during regular hours. Monday through Thursday from 12:30 to 9 p m , Friday from 12:30 to 5 pm. and Saturday from 10 a m. to 5 p m. where Gittens teaches art.
