The teams are Dave Jacobs and Ricky Beckham, Mark Ashworth and Mike Brown, Scott Card, Tom Gunn, and Bryan Hofheins (a team), Harold Ricks and Steve Cruze, and Lisa Thomson and Sarah Willis. The three topics which they will debate for the first part of the year are (1) RESOLVED: That the manufacture and use of surveillance devices should be RE(2) further regulated, should SOLVED: That Congress establish uniform regulations to investigation control criminal and (3) REprocedures, SOLVED: That the federal government should regulate the possession and use of firearms. One of the above three topics is selected in January by a national committee to be debated throughout the remaineder of the year. Officers of the forensic squad are Steve Cruze, president, and Sarah Willis, secretary. A business manager has not yet been selected. By Gary Golightly Extensive injuries have plagued a few Region Four teams thus far this year, with BY High feeling the brunt of the disasters. First string quarterback and senior Clint Williams will be out for the season because of a knee injury in the opening Lehi game. Clint was the Region Four dash champ last spring, even though he was a first stringer on the baseball team. Clint underwent surgery on Sept. 13 and will be in the hospital a few more days. Torn ligaments caused his trouble. Reports indicate that he may be able to play basketball. Backfield stalwart Jeff Keith is now also on the injury list with ligament trouble in the knee. He will be out for six weeks. Then there was last weeks game! Second string quarterback Steve Lewis (now First) was rert placed by Sophomore Fred during the second half of the Carbon game. "Player of Week" Steve Lewis, Steve Cruze chosen players of the week Senior Steve Cruze and Junior Steve Lewis have been chosen as Players of the Week thus far in the football season, according to Coach Courtney Leishman. Cruze, a passing back and transfer last year from Provo High, was chosen for his fine play in the Lehi game-throa long touchdown pass that was called back, as well as showing balance in both offense and defense. Lewis was credited with his best performance last Friday against Carbon, with an outstanding passing attack to lead the Cats to a 14-- 6 victory. He completed eight out of nine (left-hande- d) wing passes. He literally played out of his head because he actually did! Near the end of the first half, he received a minor concussion, forcing him to be observed at the hospital for the second half. After the game when he returned to the dressing room, he asked soberly: Who won? How did we make our touchdown? Each week the coaching staff announce the outstanding fdayer of the game based on total performance.
