Dr. T. B. Beatty, secreetary of the state board of health, does not propose to have drinking water used for bathing purposes, and in a case reported to him from Brigham City has taken drastic action. Notices have been posted that persons who bathe in the reservoir alcove Brigham will j be sumarily shot or shot at. , Dr. Beatty declined even to accept a modified regulation that was proposed providing that swimming in such reservoirs be prohibited unless the bathers take a bath first. Tribune. PURE ROT! Dr. Beatty nor Any other doctor, board of health secretary or private citizen has ever seen or heard of anyone bathing in the Brigham City reservoirs and before he rushes into print with such purile nonsense, Dr. Beatty ought to verify his information. Brigham City has bad other experiences with this official in connection with the citys water supply and to the natives the above article bears the ear mark of a deliberate sam. As a matter of fact, Brigham Citys water supply is 100 per cent! pure and it never sees the light of day until it comes out of the taps in the homes of the people. As for the reservoirs, the doors leading into them are securely fastened with good locks and are constantly under surveillance so that it can be said with-out fear of contradiction that not even a fool has been paddling around in them, Dr. Beattys press agent to the contrary notwithstanding. was never guilty of cutting a price.
