The FFA banquet is April 13 at 7 p m at Weber High Elvinn Dows the state F F A advisor is the speaker Awards for the year will be given and the new officers will be installed Metcalf. 4 M If chapter Doreen Shunn and Russell 5 pt'iuy j ZG O O' S; neville High School, will leave for the sixth Weber Dish ict Furopoan Tour True education is not a of matter merely academic activity in the classroom and experimental activity in the community in which we live Rather, it must involve a breadth and depth which can be found only in observing cultures and languages which differ from our own, which include varying perspectives in social exchange, and which promote human interchange with resulting understanding and appreciation Thos people participating in the Furope tour will hopefully have r mi tf an enjoyable ex- perience in foreign living in the most and interesting parks of Furope It will be of benefit not only a .identically . but socially as well The tour will take a full month and will travel through the major countries of Furope Cities that they will visit include Munich Pans, London, Lucerne and Salsburg From Salt Lake City, they will fly to Rome where they will visit the Vatican and other points of interest The next stop is Lucerne, Switeiland In Salsburg Austria, the tour members will live with families and later travel through Germany with a stop in Munich The last stops on the tour will be Paris and London Weber High School ad visors are Ralph Rowley and Moore Thomas Kae Tremaine also assisted with the prepara turns Penmanship stressed Through a special contribution to the Weber School District Foundation by Dr and Mrs Walter C Swanson, a penmanship improvement program is being planned for all elementary students in the Weber District The plan includes placing a special container in each elemen- tary IN MOST CASES SEVERAL TO CHOOSE FROM classroom in the district These containers will provide a special card for each elementary child in the district On the card the student will demonstrate his handwriting skill at regular intervals throughout the year At the close of the year an ev aluation w ill be made to 5?
