Building activity ot the city increases in-creases as the spring weather con tluues, and the contractors state that it will not be long before the question of getting laborers will be oue to seriously consider. The Ogden Packing company has begun be-gun the construction or a ?10.0uO annex an-nex to Its main building on west Twenty fourth street Iick of room to handle the business of the company com-pany in the present quarters has necessitated nec-essitated the new structure. This annex an-nex is to be of brick, three stoiles high, and 30x00 feet In size In it will be placed five large tanks, and it will also be used as a store room for the by-products of the plant. It is being built on the north side of the main building. Superintendent Jensen states that during the latter part of the summer months the company will also build a 525,000 annex on the oast side of tho main building, to be used as a refrigerator, and in which will be an artificial ice plant. It is anticipated antici-pated that this annex will double tho cooling capacity of the present plant and furnish ice for the entire jear. This work will be pushed with all possible haste, the idea being to have the plant In the improved condition for next year's business, David Mattson has taken out a permit per-mit to build his $13,000 business Mnck on Twenty-fifth street and Lincoln avenue, nnd excavation work for the basement will be commenced tomorrow. tomor-row. Mr. Mattson says he figures on finishing tho structure within the next three months. The remodeling of the passenger Ftation of the Salt Lake & Ogden railway depot on Lincoln avenue and Twenty-fifth street, has begun, and it is stated by tho contractors that tho place will be in modern condition within the next 30 dajs, and ready for use when the road Is electrified. W. V. Murdock is building a $1,000 dwelling house on Seventeenth street, between Lincoln and Wall avenues. Work on N. P. Petersons new J1.000 home has begun and it Is expected ex-pected that it will be finished in 90 days. The building is situated on Jackson avenue, between Twenty-first Twenty-first and Twenty second streets. James Calvert Is building a residence resi-dence in Rose Court, between Twenty-seventh and Twenty-eighth streets It will cost upvardu of $1,500, and will bo ready for occupancy in 90 days. .
