At Jtromo park to-day, the selling race, mile and three quarters, had six starters, "James A," "Galway," "Ambush," "Partnership," "Sister of Morcy" iu AiippiiiiiiuiK i iiu race was won by "Partnership" by half a length, "Galway" beating "Ambush" by a head for the second place. Time 3.12. The closine race was a handicap steeple race, over the usual course, two and three quarter miles. The first two hurdles were well taken. "Ox-more" "Ox-more" boiled at the third, but his rider kept on the course and on taking tak-ing a water jump the horse fell severely injuring both hind legs, and was led to the stable. "Scamp" bolted at the stone jump, and was afterwards out of the race, which now was with "Resolute," "Oeadnead" and "Bullet." The two last named iwk the jump in fine style and drew ahead of "Ut solute,'; hut in tiie meadow mea-dow "Deadhead" fell injuring tiie rider. "Resolute" now rushtd for 'Bullet" and the close was very exciting, ex-citing, "Resolute" winning by a head, "CapLain Hammond'' third. Time 4.2'J. |
