From time to time we have noted that the two have something in common. One is seeking proletarian dictatorship, and the other seeks capitalistic dictatorship. At times these two extremes are so close together that they remind us of Siamese twins. When it comes to blocking progress in government, progress in labor organizations, and progress in American civilization, both the conservative Wall Street money baron and the ultra radical communist apparently sleep in the same bed. Recently our attention was called to editorial exchanges between the Wall Street Journal, an official publication of big business, and the Daily Worker, an official organ for the communist party, U. S. A. The communist organ, editorially, thinks that Roosevelt has the unemployed in his relief budget for the coming year. Since not all the money voted for relief last year was actually spent, it asks whether there is any assurance that all the money asked for this year will be spent. The spokesman for the money lords, the Wall Street Journal, agrees with the communist policies in criticisn of Roosevelt flim-flamm- ed They can talk about each other, too. The Wall Street Journal apparently believes that industpr, especially big business, should listen to what ultra radical communists have to say and it points out that, no matter which way the cat jumps, there is little danger that any jobless man will have to go hungry. It also points out that Roosevelt has declared that "only if industry fails to reduce substantially the number of those out of work will other ap propriation and further plans and policies be necessary. The Wail Street Journal babies are the American Liberty league, the reactionary Republicans, the stand-stil- l Democrats, and other hues of the opponents of the new deal. The child of the "red hordes oJ! Moscow is the communist party, U. S. A. But, regardless of the diver sion of ideas of the two extremes, they all seemingly believe alike when it comes to the part of opposing Roosevelt and his program. It begins to look as if the ultra conservatives and the ultra radica disfranchised. PREACHERS AND PRINTERS By JOHN EDWIN PRICE Let all those who sermons, said: pay their debts rise. Something Stirring According to the headlines that we see in the local daily papers there is something stirring within the liquor commission. The roadhouse killing of Almon Jardine, a young salesman, who was slain in a Millcreek beer parlor Saturday night, it is said will spur the probe on illegal selling of beer. On top of the killing, checks, IOUs of a liquor board official, were found. These were signed by George C. Sutherland, secretary to the liquor board.
