Show Sometimes Sometimes I gaze far out upon the sea From headland cliffs neath which its surges roll The echo of the deep within my soul Awakes emotions of sublimity Sometimes I stroll on the banks of the wood-land wood brook And see in it far less of Natures Nature's power Than in the stormy ocean and yet each hour t tIt It lends itself to the sea 0 oer o'er er which I look Sometimes 0 O friend er I think on thee Thy great and noble heart though tried by care And the storms of life beyond the allotted share Seems in its power like the boundless deep to me And I alas am but a tiny stream Unknown forgotten yet will I never cease To lend l nd my life that thy life may increase In works sublime me in honor and esteem |
