Show bylaws by laws governing gold canon district distri at a meeting of the claim holders held at E canon station september 1863 the follo 11 1 laws unanimously adopted for the gove govan ment of the mining interests of that district section this district to be knon knoon a as Q canon mining district of lander county ne teri Teni tory and bounded as follows Co commence Comme nimen at a point ton ten miles south of egan station aa ay following up the western base of the gold canon cano range of mountains to a point ten miles north the station thence across tile the range due cast eig citi miles to go ga shute creek creck thence south running t steptoe valley twenty miles thence west bigit miles to tile the place of beginning section ad there shall be a ic corder cleat for the district on the day of september and each succeeding year thereafter who shall hold his office for one year from the day dajoe of september 1863 unless sooner removed by a te nc election which can only be done by a written call cal signed by at least two thirds of the claim bolac doli in in the district giving notice of a new election to be held after said notice shall have been poster r in at least three public places within the district dist for thirty days and also published income in some neej tie paper printed in or nearest to the district for thirty lays days the recorder shall also be a resident ofal of tbt district section ad it shall be the duty of the records re cordez to keep in a suitable book or books a full ani ama truthful record of the proceedings of all public meetings to place onic on i ecord cord all claims brought broucht to t him for blat that purpose when such claims shall interfere with or effect the right or interest of e prior r location recording the same in order of their thir date for which service he be shall receive tin the I 1 sum of one dollar and a half for each claim ie corded he shall keep the books open at all times for the inspection of the public he shall also have hare the power to appoint a deputy to act in his place for whose official acts he shall bo be responsible it ii shall be the duty of the recorder to deliver to his successor in office all books records papers etc belonging to or pertaining to his office section ath all examination of records must be made in a the presence of the recorder or hs bis deputy section esth notice of claims or location ot a mining ground by any individual or by it a company on file in the recorders office shall be deebel equivalent to a record of the same section ath each claimant shall be entitled to hold by location two hundred feet on any lead or lode in ill this district with all its dips spurs angles depths widths lidit off shoots outcrops out crops variations and all the minerals and other valuables ables therein contained contain edi the discoverer and locator of a leai lead being entitled to one claim extra for discovery section ath the locators of any lead lode 0 ledge in this district shall be entitled to hold oil each side of the lead lode or led ledge c located bj bT him or them live five hundred feet and all the buner als therein contained section ath all locations tunnel rinel cut I 1 shaft or drift in good faith shall be considered as being done on oil the claim owned by such person pet son or persons person 1 or company I 1 section every claim whether by an individual in or company located shall be recorded cordei rc within ten days after date of location section bilth all claims are to hold good for twelve calendar months bioni fi om date of record section whenever five hundred dollars dollar shall have been expended upon the claims of sur mr company in in this district dish act the ground so claimed by said company shall be deemed as belonging in ji 1 to the locators or company thereof and their i signs and the same shall not be subject to location locatto loc atlo or relocation location re by other parties ever after excel by an acknowledged acknowledged abandonment by the company of the ground jg round which shall be construed iff 0 mean an entire abandonment after laying kayin idle fa foe one year except in cases where claims claim s ar are e in litigation section the recorder shall go upon tile ground with any and all parties desiring to locate claims and shall be entitled V to receive for eua services one dollar and fifty cents for each claim located it shall be his further duty to mealar any claim or claims and make or cause to be t good and sufficient land marks defining said claffa abi m or claims and he is prohibited from making any location for any person or company wit without boucom complying with this section and their boundaries full fall defined section 1 alth these rules or mining laws ma be altered or amended by a two thirds vote of th tb claim hoders present it at any meeting in tile the di district at any time after thirty days notice or of such intention shall have been given in tho
