Show TRUTHS. Not being In harmony with President Kerr, and tho Logan Republican, it is high timo for Governor Cutler to hand in his resignation. Master Kerr says, " 'Pop' has his hands on tho politics of Cache county." Tho people havo been led to believe right along that President Kerr was out of politics. Kerr's record is being shown up and tho peoplo realize now how they havo been fooled. It Is reported that President Kerr 3tated to a prominent official that ho took no part in tho last campaign, and has kept out of politics. To a leading Republican he stated that he had done all consistently in his power to elect Governor Cutler. It Is now up to Jim Moylo and his friends to stato what Kerr said he did for them. Tho Logan Republican says that it Is understood that Governor Cutler's policy for tho Agricultural college Is not In harmony with President Kerr's. Wo bellovo It states tho truth. Tho governor, like tho rest of tho people, want what thoy aro paying for. Tho governor wants an Agricultural college at Logan, nnd not a third-class university. univer-sity. Wo predict that ho will havo ono boforo his term expires. Tho trustees of tho Agricultural college col-lege should place Professor Wldtsoe at tho head of that institution. Prof. WIdtsoo Is ono of tho best Informed men In tho United Stntes on scientific agriculture. His namo at tho head of tho Agricultural college would bo a guarantee to tho people of not only this stato, but tho surrounding states, that wo not only had an Agricultural college col-lege In name, but in fact. If Mr. WIdtsoo WIdt-soo had control of tho Agricultural college, col-lege, but very Httlo friction, If any, would exist between that Institution and tho State University. Mr. WIdtsoo should bo elected at once. Tho troublo with our stato educational educa-tional Institutions Is that local differences differ-ences and jealousies aro allowed to enter them. Tho public should remember remem-ber that tho University of Utah Is a 3tate institution, and not a Salt Lake county one; that tho Agricultural col-lego col-lego belongs to tho stato and not' to Cache county. Tho make-up of tho boards of these two Institutions is wrong. Too many members from Salt Lake county aro on tho board of regents re-gents of tho university, and too many trustees of tho Agricultural college aro from Cacho county. Tho governor should sen In tho future that this evil is remedied and tho principal sections of tho stato represented. This would havo a tendency to servo a notice on somo peoplo In Salt Lako and Cacho counties that these Institutions still belong be-long to tho stato. Tho Logan Republican states that Representative Roberts is against Mr. Kerr. Wo aro pleased to hear this. Mr. Roberts, while in tho legislature, was looked upon as one of the brainiest brain-iest men of that body. Tho Agricultural Agricul-tural college has no better or stronger friend. Mr. Roberts being against Mr. Kerr is a guarantee that a change should bo made for tho benefit of the college. It Is hard to tell which Roberts Rob-erts thinks the most of, his wife or the Agricultural college. Ex-Senator Cannon and Senator Dubois Du-bois havo not been heard of lately. vVhen Frank and Fred get together they generally wind up In tho hospital for repairs. K Mother Schoff has taken pains to follow the actions of that precious pair for tho past week, she unquestionably has material enough gathered for a year to lecture on temperance tem-perance and tho purity of the homo. It is rumored that Frank Cannon received re-ceived ?5,000 lately from the W. C. T. U. for tho Tribune. We havo not heard of Lippman receiving the money. By tho way, what a glorious time Cannon and Dubois can havo on that amount. Yo Gods! to think of this money being be-ing subscribed in tho interest of temperance tem-perance and tho purity of the home! '. Tho Logan Republican Is seeing ghosts again; and is accusing the university uni-versity peoplo of having ulterior motives mo-tives In trying to get tho central station sta-tion located colso to Salt Lake. It claims it is a design to steal tho Agricultural Agri-cultural college from Logan. Tho fact is that a majority of the people of Salt Lake want tho college to remain where It is. All they want along with tho people of tho state is that the college now at Logan bo made what It was do-signed do-signed for, an AGRICULTURAL college, col-lege, and that an agricultural expert bo put at It's head and not a politician. A number of Salt Lake people have quit visiting Provo since Postmaster Clove testified to treating Peltier to lemonade. It was a custom of Jim's in the past to get three or four highballs high-balls down his visitors so thoy could more clearly see tho wonderful freak of nature "Tho Lady of the Valley" laying stretched out on tho Provo mountains. Truth does not take Jim's testimony seriously. Jim being on to his job, sized up Peltier. The proof of this is that we fall to find in Jim's testimony tes-timony any account of a loan. |
