Bennion Churches Of Area Plan Programs For Thanksgiving Day Many wards and stakes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will hold special Thanksgiving services and programs. The Bonneville LDS Stake will present an hour-long program Thursday at 10 a.m. in the stake center. The speaker for the morning will be Dr. Adam S. Bennion Ben-nion a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles. Special music will be provided by the Bonneville Ward Choir. The First Baptist Church, 777 -13th East, will be the host church for a union Thanksgiving Day service for several of the area churches. Others joining in the Thanksgiving Thanks-giving Day worship at the church include the members of the First (Continued on Page 2) Pres. Grant (Continued from Page 1) Gordon Madsen, brief eulogy by Thomas G. Judd, piano selections by Mrs. Howard Bowlby and the presentation of the Heber J. Grant collection by Grant W. Midgley. Mr. H. A. Sorensen, National Sons of Utah Pioneers President, will accept ac-cept the collection for the Pioneer Village Museum. . Special music will be provided by the Beesley Stringed Trio. The event, to which the public is invited, will feature the unveiling unveil-ing of a new bust of President Grant by Torleif S. Knaphus, prominent prom-inent Utah sculptor. The work was commissioned by the Sons of Utah Pioneers especially for the permanent memorial at the museum. Chairman of the committee for the Sunday event is a grandson of Pres. Grant, Grant W. Midgley. Special invitations have been sent to the General Authorities and public pub-lic officials. Due to the anniversary falling on Thanksgiving Day, the family reunion and dinner party will be held Saturday prior to the open house Sunday. |
