the property from three landholders the annexation Anderson promised the County Commission would take place but wanted the commission to allow a second lot Countywide Interest Board of Health announces last call for flu shots split on the property for a company who wanted to build The county was reluctant because it would violate county ordinances ' The commission has refused subdivisions on similar issues and rejected the split provision prior to annexation MANTI— Due to recent vaccine shipments arriving throughout Utah the Central Utah Public Health Department has lifted all restrictions for receiving the flu vaccine Anyone over six months of age can now get vaccinated “The Central Utah Board of Health really struggled with how to best prioritize the delivery of our Health Department “After concentrating our efforts on our highest risk populations we care center patients health care providers and first responders are now lifting all restrictions and are making our few remaining anmonths Resendes older than six doses available to anyone old” nounced Utah now has several laboratory confirmed flu cases ‘This is the least prepared the country has ever been for MANTI — Sanpete County Clerk Kristine Frischknecht says she is receiving emails from across the country and the world about the county justice court’s refusal to accept payment of an $82 fine from a man who paid the fine with 8200 pennies The Salt Lake Tribune initially reported the story which quickly made its way nationwide and is now pasted on Internet websites The Story began when Grant Peterson of Ephraim took a bucket of loose pennies to the court to pay a traffic ticket Court clerks told him the pennies were an “unaccaptable form of payment” The court told Peterson to retrieve the change by Monday Dec 6 but he did not do so Nancy Volmer public information officer for the Utah Administrative Office of the Courts says that state policy allows the court to reject “unusual forms of payment” “We cun accept rolled pennies just not loose ones” she says explaining that counting the money would place an unreasonable burden upon the court's resources The court has not indicated what its next move is As for Peterson he plans to argue that since the coins are “legal tender for all debts public or private" the court’s rejection of the payment should amount to a dismissal of the fine Peterson says if the court would have accepted the pennies it would have made an extra couple of bucks out of the deal “There (is actually closer to $85” he says “plus a $5 bucket” Parent lest drivers
