and teams and Gunnison in no exception This fall Gunnison received it’s first high school aged soccer club This is not a high school soccer team this is a soccer club The difference is that the schools do not sponsor the clubs like a football team or baseball team The clubs rely on help from local businesses and community members to fund and support them The Gunnison club receives its sponsorship from Therapy West and a few individuals They hope to split the team into a boy’s team in the spring and a girl’s team in the fall Gunnison is one of the newest and least experienced clubs Gunnison volleyball loses to wolves By Patti Robertson - GUNNISON Despite valiant efforts on the part of the Gunnison Lady Bulldogs volleyball team they could not seem to overcome the girls from North Sevier and lost all three games against the Lady Wolves and last week In the first game the Bulldogs couldn’t to seem get moving and even with mistakes on the part of the Wolves and some great teamwork on the part of the Bulldogs they were unable to overcome a early game deficit and lost the game The Second game looked a little better and the Lady Bulldogs came into the game with a little more fire but the Wolves built a wall at the net that the Bulldogs could not seem to overcome The game was close early but the Wolves took the lead and never looked back The Gunnison ladies were able to make some spectacular saves but it was not enough The third game was the best the girls had played all night Bulldog Alacia Satterfield pounded out two serves in a row that were untouchable and the Bulldogs narrowed the margin of loss Lady Bulldog head coach Lindy Anderson stated that her varsity team just needs a little more confidence before the numbers show up in the win column Gunnison NFL youth flag football week six Saturday was the sixth and final week of the Gunnison NPL Flag Football regular season The first game had the Elkridge Financial 49ers beating the undefeated Lotsa Motsa
