Show At the last regular meeting of the Odd Fellows the following were elected officers offi-cers for the coming term: H. G. Fred-rickson, Fred-rickson, N. G.; Dr. Geo. L. Sears, V. G.; J. H. Hornung, Secretary; A. L. Merri-am, Merri-am, Treasurer; Lawrence A. Tuttle, Trustee. An Anniversary committee was also appointed to arrange for the annual celebration on January 15th, when that eloquent orator, Grand Secretary Peter A. Simpkins of Salt Lake City, will be the speaker of the occasion. Temple City Lodge No. 23, is prosperous, and as usual the boys are looking forward to a rousing good time at their annual "blowout." "blow-out." . The members of the orchestra feel that they are justly entitled to furnish the music for dances in Manti. The manager mana-ger of the orchestra says they play up-to-date music, always strive to give satisfaction, sat-isfaction, that the prices are reasonable, and there is no discrimination the price being the same to all. They are open for engagement to all, at any time, and have never yet turned down an engagement. The only way to build up a musical organization or-ganization is to give it substantial encouragement, en-couragement, and the home orchestra should always be shown the preference, especially by those who expect to reap a profit from home people through the medium of a dance. Len McCarty, formerly of this city, has engaged in the general merchandise business at Green River. . The Temple closes to-day for the holiday season . MissZella Crawford gave a birthday birth-day party to her young friends on Saturday evening. The Ladies' Literary Club will give a dance at the opera house on next Monday evening. The Sunday school class of J. B. Jacobson gave him a pleasant surprise sur-prise last Thursday evening. The family of W. D. Livingston, who have been at Provo the past few months, are at home again. Elder J. W. McMurrin of Salt Lake, of the Seventies'' quorum, was in the city last Thursday on matters ecclesiastical. All the Manti students who attend at-tend school at Provo, Logan and Salt Lake, returned home Saturday ' to spend the holidays. Prof. A. C. Lund and Miss Cornelia Cor-nelia Sorenson will be married in the Manti Temple to-day. The bride is an accomplished lady and is one of Gunnison's fairest daughters. daugh-ters. The party given by the members of the Lincoln class of the public school at the opera house last night was a pleasant success. The hall was beautifully decorated and all enjoyed a pleasant evening. Geo. E. Bench arrived home on Sunday from the north, where he has been at work on the railroad since last June. The other Manti boys who have been working in Idaho and Wyoming, are now all at home or will arrive to-day. Both the North and South ward Sunday schools will hold their exercises ex-ercises Christmas morning, the former in the opera house and the latter in the Assembly Hall. Splendid Splen-did programs have been prepared and good entertainment is promised prom-ised all who may attend. The Christmas exercises of the Presbyterian school were held in the church last evenino-. An an-propriate an-propriate program was rendered, the most interesting feature of which was the beautiful Christmas tree and the distribution of presents pres-ents to the children by dear old Santa Clans. ' Prof. Koyl is at home until after the holidays, prepared to read heads and give charts. The professor has studiously followed this profession profes-sion for twenty years and is thoroughly thor-oughly competent and reliable in his readings. The pupils have added ad-ded sufficient chemical and physical physi-cal apparatus to meet the requirements require-ments of the science course in the Eighth grade. A statue of Lincoln will also be placed in the school hall by the members of the Lincoln class. Mrs. Caroline Nelson and family fami-ly desire to extend their hearty thanks and appreciation to all who rendered them assistance during their late bereavement in the death of their loving son and brother, Edwin. They especially thank the friends for the many beautiful floral tributes. Wm. E. King of Ferron and Miss Annie An-nie Johanna Peterson of Castle Dale, and John Allred of Ferron and Miss Tina Frandsen of Castle Dale, were married in the Manti Temple to-day. John K. Reid of Orangeville was called to Salt Lake City last Saturday to see his son Robert, who was injured while working at Helper. The young man was taken to St. Mark's hospital.
