Show THE GOLD BLOSSO 11 superintendent greenwood has two shifts at work at the gold blossom which lies about seven miles northeast of eureka in north tintic gintic and has penetrated the mountain about feet for a distance of about seventy five feet says sacs the miner the tunnel has run alon alongside a ten foot body of iron carbonates that is flecked in places with galena and crystallized lead seventy feet more it is calculated will bring the tunnel under the old workings from where high grade ore was shipped several years ago the gold blossom caused in 1892 the greatest excitement probably that has ever been witnessed in eureka the ground was located by cal kelly and brother and the nichols boys while they were en route to the drum mountains on a prospecting trip from the sage brush down high grade silver lead ore was encountered in generous quantities and many wagon loads were hauled to the sandy smelters shelters sm elters and sold in excavating for anore an ore house the owners uncovered a big body of this ore which yielded them several hundred dollars at one time they were offered for the five claims the ground was eventually incorporated under the name of the capital gold and silver mining corn com 1 pany the stock is owned principally in american fork james chipman of that place being one of the heavy holders jesse knight recently tried to secure a bond and lease on the group which consists of five claims but was unsuccessful south of the gold blossom and in the same orange of mountains is the white star which was incorporated last winter a great deal of the stock being held in eureka |
