Show THE NEW TO TONOPAH thanks to the enterprise and business sagacity of a prominent salt lake business man hon simon bamberger the new and wonderfully rich mining camp of tonopah To nevada will in due time have direct railroad communication with this city and it is fair to presume upon the completion of the proposed line that the bulk of the ores of this prolific camp will find a market in salt lake and that new and extensive business will thereby be acquired by our valley smelters shelters sm elters and reduction works in addition to which the business interests in of both salt lake and tonopah will be vastly bene fitted by the construction of this line which will bring a distant and almost inaccessible portion of the west into quick and direct touch with the outside world mr bamberger returned last week from the east where he recently perfected the organization of nevada midland railroad com pany of which he is president the incorporation po ration attained a legal existence in new jersey with a capitalization of and takes in the nevada central railroad a branch line ninety miles in length running from battle mountain on the southern pacific to austin from austin to tonopah the distance is miles and this gap will be closed as soon as possible and as fast as the material for the construction of the road can be secured over this new road the distance from tonopah to salt lake will be in the neighborhood of GOO miles and with the proposed S P cutoff cut off across the great salt lake this mile mileage acre will be considerable shortened the building of this line will not only be a great thing for this city and tonopah To bu but t al so to intervening sections as the line will go through portions of nevada which fairly teem with rich mining 6 camps now practically dead because of lack of transportation but which will take on new life under the magic macic t influences of railroad communication in addition to which the route is through a great cattle country and a section that will eventually offer many advantages 6 and material resources because of the possession of railway facilities within its boundaries we believe that the projection and building of this road by mr bamberger is a stroke of enterprise wisely conceived and that it will prove to be a successful and profitable undertaking |
