The Commission gave Park West final approval the next day, September 25th. No Student List School Activity Card No PARK WEST PARK CITY HISTORICAL SOCIETY CONDUCTS TOUR HISTORICAL SOCIETY TOtJRS SILVER KING TERMINAL The Park City Historical Society met Thursday, September 26th, for a tour of the historic Silver King Coalition Terminal. The tour, which began at City Park, was guided by Reed Clawson. Among other things, those participating in the tour learned that the massive structure only took three years to build. Built and designed by the Trenton lron Works Company of Trenton, New Jersey, the terminal was started in 1900 and completed in 1902. Hie next meeting of the Historical Society will feature an expert on horses, and how they were utilized in mining. " "! : ; REBECCA ANN HALL TRAINING PROGRAM UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY PALEFIRE TRAINS VOLUNTEERS The Palefire Rehabilitation, Prevention and Counseling Program is offering an 8 week training course for persons interested in becoming volunteers. The program offers trainees the opportunity to reach others in need, expand their own personal experience, and work with professionals in the field. Beginning Tuesday, October 8th, the training program will offer background techniques in communications: skills such as listening, values clarification and family-teachcounseling. Trainees will also learn about the referral system. The training techniques used will include: . roleplaying, mood simulation, discussion groups and field service. Volunteers who complete the mandatory 8 week sessions will work in rap groups, publicity, training other volunteers, or on a one to one basis with clients. After completion of the month long course, each potential counselor must be screened orally. The Pale Palefire Rehabilitation, Prevention and Counseling Program would like to encourage anyone, regardless of age, to attend the volunteer training sessions. The improvement project at Jimmys Place was completed in only me night as many of Jimmys friends volunteered their labor for a long graveyard shift. The motivation for laying the new floor was the owners desire to make Jimmys Place nicer for the customer. WOMANS AHIENAEUM The Womans Athanaeum of Park City was represented at the recent Fall Conference of the Utah Federation of Womens Clubs in Ogden by the president, Audrey Stevens, Violet Terry, Ann Haralson, Kathryn Hansen, Ella Sorensen, and Eleanor Bennett, U.F.W.C. treasurer. The one one-da- y meeting was a symposium of workshops designed to acquaint club members with projects sponsored by the General Federation of Womens Clubs as well as the U.F.W.C. Public Affairs, Conservation, International Affairs, Education, Home Life and the Arts were some of the subjects covered. Athenaeum will start the 1974-7- 5 club year on Monday night, October 14, at 7:30 PM in the Memorial Building. Mrs. Stevens is extending an invitation to all interested ladies to attend and meet the U.F.W.C. president, Mrs. Elmer Klitgaard of Salt Lake City.
