Show JAS. JORDAN IS SENT TO PRISON In the criminal division of the district dis-trict court this morning. Judge Howell sentenced James Jordan to serve two years in the state penitentiary for forgery in the second degree. The prisoner pleaded guilty to the Charge Friday. In paBsing sentence, the court states that tho short term of two years had been Imposed because of tho recommendation recom-mendation of leniency by the arresting arrest-ing officers, the usual sentenco in such, cases being greater. Jordan pleaded guilty to burglarizing burglariz-ing the clothing store of B. Cohen on lowor Twenty-fifth street, March 2 He was caught in the act of leaving the Btore with his arms filled with suits of clothes. The value of the goodB taken was placed at $100. |
