May, 771,479 new passenger cars were registered In the United States, representing a gain of B3.2 per cent over the corresponding period last year, according to Automobile Topics, publication of the industry. May was also the fifth consecutive month to run ahead of the corresponding period of last year. Country-widregistrations show that Ford leads the industry with 3 1.3 per cent of the total for the five months ending with May. ford also showed the greatest gain over the corresponding per iod of last year, with a gain of 75.6 per cent and is followed by Packard, Oldsniobile, DeSoto, and LaSalle, in that order. Early reports show that June, 1935 has gained 19.8 fourth consecutive month of this year thaa Ford sales avo topped 100,000 units. With a sale total of 100.SS2 units, th;s '.a the best June experienced by the Ford Motor Co, si;ice 1930. During the first six months of 1935, 634,961 Ford units were sold in the United States. This is nears of the 1,000,000 cars ly and trucks which Ford is building tis year. This figure does not intrude foreign sales.
