Show Business Club Back of Drive At the regular meeting of the En-tre En-tre Nous club last Wednesday evening, even-ing, $125 was subscribed by the members as individuals for the purpose pur-pose of starting a fund with which to equip the public school playgrounds with the necessary paraphernalia for; "".the entertainment and amusement of j the pupil s. Not al.ie did the organ-! ization start the fund, but it pledged j its support in a drive which is to be j waged during the next two weeks to J gather in a fund of approximately $000, the amount necessary to equip the grounds. A committee of four members from the club was appointed ap-pointed and these representatives will work in cooperation with Superintendent Super-intendent Metcalf and other members of the faculty who are interested in the move. Next Monday morning the "drive" will be started and it will be the purpose pur-pose of the working committee to visit every parent and every business man in Gunnison and any from the outside who will aid in the' worthy movement. The drive will be waged for ten days and during this lime it is thought an amount of $600 can easily be assembled. Gunnison has been lagging in this movement for the reason that little or no interest has been taken. Practically every school district in the state has supplied sup-plied the grounds with equipment and the results from various standpoints stand-points are highly satisfactory. Remember the drive, parents and business men, and when members of the committee call on you, give to the limit and let Gunnison go on record as being among the "live ones" of the state. The club members at its Wednesday's Wednes-day's session, completed arrangements arrange-ments to have Brooks Fletcher, the noted lecturer, as a guest at a noonday noon-day luncheon at the Elite cafe. Following Fol-lowing the lunch Mr. Fletcher will address the club members. Another feature which the club will stage shortly will be the presentation presen-tation of the Agricultural College Glee club. The glee club, comprising compris-ing twenty-five members, and all royal entertainers, is ' touring the state, and the Enlre Nous club has planned to have them in Gunnison. All dates except Sunday afternoon have been taken, and just as soon as a definite time can be, arranged the Gunnison date will be announced. The entertainment will be free to everybody. |
