This was a wonderful experience for the players—to see the difference between live drama and the stuff they get on their video cassettes. No comparison. Doni was in both plays, and in the Happy Journey used some of the mirroring techniques he had taught our players the previous Sunday. After the show, some of the players sat on the stage and mirrored the actions they had just seen. The grand highlight of the evening was meeting with the whole cast after the show. They gave us a half hour discussion on how to be an actor, spurred on by the thoughtful questions our kids generated, such as “How do you play sadness?” “What do you do if you forget your lines?" “How do you learn an accent. ” THANK YOU, all of you involved with Tributary Theater, and our fine Moab actors. Watch for this theater company, folks, they hope to be back, performing from March to October in the future. This month Jennifer Redding will be doing a drama workshop with the middle players (age 8 to 10) at her house on Sunday, October 23rd, from 3 to 5 pm. John Rice hopes to come up from Bluff this month or next to conduct a workshop for the older players, who will be performing some ”iii is $50 a head in the big city.
