Show WM 10 RHE FATALLY INJURED william forrester superintendent of the coal mine two miles west of castle cato received injuries at 4 saturday afternoon that resulted in his death monday morn ing at 3 mr forrester was working in the blacksmith shop whon when a tram train cable slipped off a pulley sinking striking the blacksmith shop with sufficient elent foice to fatally injure mr air forrester foi rester nut and slightly lightly injure james a young 77 J WILLIAM FORRESTER arn u who attended the high schol hera last winter and a man named taylor mr forrester was taken to his home near tho mine where he exair expired ed from hie his injuries as stated above deceased was 46 years of a age and 4 had lived in this section many ear ears lift is survived by a widow and six children three by his present wife and three by a former wife he was wa eon son of john forrester who died ii ir salt lake last winter and leaves besides his widow and children two brothers john of bear canyon where the cameron mine is located loca tei and alex of vancouver B C and a sister mr mrs peter forster whose husband is also employed at the cameron mine the body was taken to salt lake tuesday anly and yesterday esterday afternoon the funeral was held from the evans mortuary internment being ia in mt olivet cemetery E L carpenter president of the consolidated fuel company peaking to a reporter for a salt lake paper had the following to say concerning mr forrester 1 I have known will forrester Por rester ever since be came to utah and I 1 think I 1 have never known a finer man A more strenuous ious worker has never been employed by our concern he rose in in our employ through various positions from bl to superintendent in about ten berrs ago I 1 took him with me to dawson N 31 where he be became superintendent of the stage stagg canyon fuel company he stayed there about eighteen months and then returned here to work for tre tle consolidated company ho lie was superintendent of all our mines mine in the carbon ca boa county district until about two months ago when upon earnest solicitation of F N cameron proprietor of the cameron mine he went to work at castle gate his death costs utah one of its most useful citizens siti iti zens lou hills was called to salt lake yesterday on account of the illness of his brother Ch charle arTes who resides in that city |
