Harper Pearse was the master of ceremonies. Mr. Griffiths has taught at Box Elder for forty-fou- r years and during that time, he has been instrumental in bringing about better conditions at the school. We, as students, want to commend Mr. Griffiths for his We kindness and friendship. appreciate his helpfulness and shall remember him for many more years. We wish him the best of all good things in the future. Mr. Griffiths seemed very happy that the clubs had honored him 'in such a way. His comment was: Nothing else Could have been such as great an honor as was his program. I shall never forget Box Elder and the many friends I have made i there. Brigham City Airman Dies After Crash A Brigham City Navy pilot, Lt. J. G. Jerry A. Clingenpeel, In 23, died Saturday, Feb. 11, the Oakland Naval hospital la California. Death was - caused from burns received In the crash of his jet plane last Thursday. His plane crashed on takeoff at the Naval Auxiliary Air Station at Fallon, Nev., When it apparently lost power at an altitude of less than 100 feet. A Navy spokesman said the young flier was pulled unconscious from the biasing wreckage of his plane but revived shortly afterward at a Fallon hospital and remained conscious most of the time. He was transferred to the Oakland hospital Friday night. He was born April 30, 1932, at Stillwater, Okla., the son of Otis H. and Edna Dulaney The Clingenpeel family came to Brigham City three f and years ago. He graduated from the North Phoenix High school and Phoe-- . nix college. He entered the Navy Air Academy at Pensacola, Fla., on July 21,- 1952. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church at Phoenix. Survivors Include Ms parents, Brigham City; a sister, Sara, a student at the USAC at Logan; a grandmother, Mrs. Emma Ann Clingenpeel of Stillwater, Okla.
