The Beginning is ; the exact same movie, -..,.......... i jCourtesy Photos/amazon.com \ he first full week of school is over! I've figured out my schedule, I'm working on getting my books, I'm already losing weight from lack of money, and most of my class sizes are now what they will be for the rest of the semester. Why, after the first few sessions, will my' class of thirty drop down to a class of thirteen? Some of the MIA students changed their schedule around and good for them! They really took responsibility and either dropped a class or switched teachers for one reason or another. Yet, since my professor still calls twentyseven names, my instincts tell me most of my classmates simply aren't coming. I'll admit that as a high school senior I only went to my classes once or twice a week, but that was three years ago, and it was free public education. Great times right? But we're in college now-and sorry to disagree with Bowling for Soup but high school really does end! How we spend our time and money is now something that will either help or haunt us for the rest of our lives so it's time to start taking it seriously. We each have bills, schedules, meetings, study groups and more; we each have responsibilities coming out the wazoo and if we don't take care of them we're going to get slapped down. We neglect our bills? Bad credit. We don't come to class? No professor references. We blow off our meetings? No one is going to think of you when any educational or career opportunities come up. Our negative actions will imprint us for years, even after we change. (Five years in fact for bad credit-yeah, not proud that I know that.) No one is thinking about buying a new house or having letters of recommendation on hand, but you will. Let's say you want to change your life around but for the past four years you were messing around. Guess who won't get their house or their job? We're going to make us want to kick ourselves for those avoidable mistakes. "So I don't go to my Gen Ed classes, who cares? Once I graduate and start working I'll never use (insert English, Math, RE., Science, History, etc.) again!" First of all, after I hear that, it's quickly followed by a whooshing sound of four hundred dollars zooming past my top len And the winners are. Top nominees this year include Mary J. Blige, who leads the list with eight nominations, while Red Hot Chili Peppers, Justin Timberlake, John Mayer, Dixie Chicks and Gnarls Barkley round out the list of top nominees. "These nominations truly reflect a diverse and vibrant community of music makers and creators who represent some of the most remarkable music of the year," said Neil Portnow, president of The Recording Academy, in a news release. However, the big question surrounding the Grammys currently is not who's going to sweep the categories, rather the most buzz is surrounding the mystery of who will be hosting the awards ceremony this year. As of yet, no one has been officially named, although rumors have been circulating: The most popular rumored host being Stephen Colbert." Until an official announcement, there is no official host, but the Grammy website (listed below) will t>e sure to let everyone know Photocredit/Grammy.com when they finally decide.
