Eight boy scouts of Price troop No. 281 passed requirements for merit TO PAY DIVIDEND BEFORE XMAS Many Carbon People to Receive Share of This Money The directors of Home Acceptance corporation, a finance concern with agencies in Price, Provo, Ogden and Richfield, have arranged to pay the December 31st preferred stock dividend on December 23rd, feeling that stockholders will welcome the ioney for Xmas shopping and thereby assist in stimulating the local Yulctide business. This is the nineteenth consecutive quarterly dividend paid by this concern and many Carbon county people will receive checks as about $30,000 worth of this stock is held locally. The management points with pride to their strong position which permits operating 100 per cent on their own capital, having retired all bank and other borrowing. Manager A. L. Manning states that "dealers, purchasers and the finance company have all been extremely cautious during 1931-3- 2 resulting in fewer repossessions at this time than at any other period in the companys seven years of operations. He sounds an optimistic note in saying that used car dealers throughout the state are anxious to purchase desirable cars for cash and the past sixty days has witnessed much renewed interest and some increased buying of new cars. Ross Hardy is a member of Sigma Delta Theta, and the Misses Beth Crawford and Florence Christensen are members of Delta Delta Delta and Lambda Omega, respectively. Miss Mary Ruggeri is pledged to Lambda Omega. The survey does not include activity and membership in professional and honorary Greek letter societies. Dr. A. W. Grading work on the stretch has been completed, and over half of the distance has been graveled. tha road 10-m- ile Sixty-on- e Price Kiwanians, wives and guests attended the annual presidents dinner and installation program held in the banquet room of the Community church Wednesday evening. S. J. Sweetring very capably acted as toastmaster and a high spirit of goodfellowship and humor prevailed throughout the evening. The retiring president, Norman Hamilton, installed the new president, Ray Waiters, who in turn inducted into office the other new officers with appropriate ceremonies. Dr. Charles Ruggeri announced two more members and stat- ed that President Hamilton leaves the club, after two successive terms, in the most thriving condition of almost its entire history. Mrs. Clara Ruggeri was introduced as the toastmistress in charge of a very clever program put on by the Kiwanis ladies 'and reviewed the history of the local club most interestingly. The ladies, according to custom, presented the retiring president with a gift, in this case a handsome Gladstone traveling bag. After the banquet the party went to the Elks ballroom where they danced until a late hour. Delbert Draper of Salt Lake City was reelected chairman of the State Democratic Central committee at a meeting held last Saturday. Despite a rather vigorous insurgency opposition, Mr. Draper was given a decided vote of confidence when the vote stood at 44 to 7 in his favor. Office supplies The te. f.
