Plans were made for the month's work and a social was enjoyed. Ruby Nicol assisted assist-ed Mrs. Wall in serving refreshments refresh-ments to the 12 ladies present. Ann Briggs presented the sacrament gem and Carol Gleas-on Gleas-on gave a short talk in Sunday School. Dr. George H. Hansen of the BYU and Mrs. Laura Perry were the speakers at sacrament meeting. meet-ing. Music was furnished by a trio comprising LaRene Briggs, Jean Clawson and Rosetta Dall-ey Dall-ey and a sextette comprising Nyra Colvin, Helen Hansen, Donna Ashton, Noreene Allred, Joan Brake and Berdene Terry. Ruth Colvin was the accompanist. accompan-ist. Colene Peterson, represent ing the LDS girls, gave a short talk. Among those from the ward who attended the stake temple excursion last week were Mr. and Mrs. Scott Reynolds. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Tippetts, Ivy SHARON RELIEF SOCIETY UNION MEETING SET All Relief Society officers and teachers are requested to attend at-tend the Sharon stake union meeting on Sunday, Oct 22 at 2 p.m. in the Pleasant View ward chapel. Mrs. Eldon Perry is at the Utah Valley hospital following a major operation performed on Monday. Perry, Bailey Lindstrom and Dr. and Mrs. Nephi Kazerian. The opening social of the Relief Re-lief Society was held last week. President Melba Cluff was in charge of the program which included in-cluded music by Rosetta Dahle. LaRene Briggs and Jean Claw-son, Claw-son, a reading by Leah Peterson, Peter-son, tributes to outgoing officers and teachers by Loraine Tibb-etts Tibb-etts and Marion Ercanbrack. Gifts were presented to each retiring worker by Mrs. Cluff. A preview of the year's work was given by the class leaders. Refreshments were served to the 35 women present. Louise Trotter will present the literary lesson in Relief Society So-ciety next Tuesday at 2 p.m. OFFICERS NAMED BY PLEASANT VIEW DUP Merle Foote and Ivy Perry were co-hostesses at the meeting of the Pleasant View Camp DUP I held Thursday at the Foote' home. The Wasatch Gladioli Society Soc-iety held a meeting Friday evening even-ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Wallace. President George Mayberry distributed show reports re-ports and awarded trophies to show winners. Refreshments were served to Louise Carroll George Mayberry, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Wadley, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nuttall and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace. Family members enjoyed a supper Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Goodman Aiken. The supper was in honor of Mrs. Max Pedersen who was celebrating her birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Barney have moved to Salt Lake City to make their home. Lee Perry is recovering from a tonsilectomy performed last week. Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Smith and family attended a funeral in Salina Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Winston Berry Ber-ry from Provo have moved into in-to one of the new homes in the Edwards subdisision. APPlt-IDA Pli Besides one 8-inch ZOOM 90-SECOND 90-SECOND PIE CRUST, you'll need: 1 qt. apples, cut in eighths 1 cup sugar 1 cup water 2 tablespoons flour H teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind i teaspoon nutmeg i teaspoon rum extract (optional) Pare and cut apples in eighths. Bring sugar and water to boil. Add apples. Cook until apples are tender but hold shape. Remove Re-move from syrup. While apples are cooking, cream together flour, salt and butter. Add to hot syrup and cook until thick. Add lemon rind, nutmeg and flavoring flavor-ing extract. Pour over apples and allow all to chill before adding to cooled ZOOM 90-SECOND 90-SECOND PIE CRUST. 90-StCOND Pit CRUST Besides 1-Yt cups FISHER'S ZOOM, you'll need: M cup brown or white sugar i teaspoon salt H cup melted butter or shortening Combine ZOOM, sugar and salt. Rub briskly to crumble ZOOM. Add melted butter and stir until well-mixed. Press with back of spoon into pie pan to form shell. This is enough for 9-inch pie shell. If 8-inch shell is made, pile extra mixture in center of formed shell to bake with crust. When baked, scoop this extra crumb from shell to use as garnish. Bake at 350F. 8 to 10 minutes.
