To explain: Bonnie Shand cooks the food of the places she' travels, which is a basic unders- tatement. At the age of 20,Bonnie has been to France, Norway, Scotland, Thailand, England, Corsica, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Iran, India, Cambodia, China, Japan and Holland. Oh yes, and Brigham grew up. Before Bonnie shared some of the famous recipes with The Mountain Flower, she had to convert the measurements from the metric system to the linear, or grams to tablespoons. When its all over, one has seen' a adventure story but has not undergone the experience of reading something by Vardis Fisher. . Mrs. Fisher said that making the fund effective is going to take some work, partly because of the legal restrictions that must be considered and partly because she wants it to be put to good use. "If its just going to be a handout, thats no good, she said. "You can go anywhere and get a handout. Money from this fund, if she has her way, will go to aspiring young Western writers who will use it to actually advance their careers. She has another project nowadays besides the Memorial Fund.
