He had been ill the past two months. Mr. Ashton was born at Lehi, Dec. a 28, 1876, a son of Thomas and Lawrence Ashton, who came to Utah in 1851. Before joining the Utah Power and Light company, he had been employed for a number of years with .the Telluridc Power company at Lehi and Mercur. He married Elsie Hunter of American Fork. July 15. 1902. and the couple resided at Sunshine for two years. They moved to American Fork in 1904. Prominent in civic affairs. Mr. Ashton served as American Fork city councilman from 1926 until 1930. He was a charter member of the American Fork Lions Club and had been active in Democratic affairs for many years. Surviving are his wiow: three sons, Leon and L.varence Ashton of American Fork, and Carl Ashton of Lehi: a daughter. Fay Ashton of American Fork; two sisters. Miss Emma Ashton and Mrs. Thaddeus Powell of Lehi and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the of American Alpine Stake Tabernacle in the Fork, Wednesday, with burial American Fork Cemetery. WOMAN DIES those interested are invited to join. . .
