Makin was born in Lehi on March 21, 1867, a daughter of Elizabeth Marshall and Joseph Reeves Gray. She lived at Lehi with her parents until seven years of age, at that time moving to American Fork. She lived at Auerican Fork until her marriage in January 12, .1887, to John William Makin. Mr. Makin died on August 24, 1909. After the death of her. husband she lived in Pleasant Grove. She has made her home with her children for the past 7 years, a larger portion of the time with her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Coulam of the Lehi Fourth Ward.
