Now that spring time Is here again some thoughtless citizens are cleaning irrigation ditches around the city and leaving the accumulated leaves and trash piled on the ditch banks and road sides when a few minutes time and a few matches would permanently dispose of the trash. Why not each one do his share in KEEPING the streets and roadsides clean, and each try to add to the APPEARANCE of our city rather than add to the accumulation of trash and rubbish? The accident happened when Mr. Dean turned the corner from the Third Ward Church onto Fourth West Street. Striking a bump In the road the car seemed to become unmanage able and after wobbling about, turned completely over. The high school boys have been preparing for the annual track meets, and this week the spirit Is running high. The Inter class track meet has been announced for this week end, March 29, 80, and SI will finish show the results of the classes as they participate. Winners of the classes will probably be given the chance to represent the 'Purple and White" in the Alpine Field Day Meet, which will be held on April 7th at Lincoln. MISS efficiency award will be presented to her at proper awarding ceremonies. Miss Allied to gain this honor excelled all other graduates In the total scoring of activities and scholarship. Fifty percent is given for scholarship and fifty for activities. Miss Allred, who was one of the close competitors to the chosen valid ictorian in scholarship also is a leader In activities.
