By R. L. D. If you had been living in Fairfield a year after it was first settled you would have seen, February 22, 1856. a rider dash into town with a friend ly message for the grief stricken people, two of whose members had been slain the day before by Indians. That rider was John Logan Fiack, who afterwards moved to Fairfield. Here, May 2, 1869. a son, John Charles Flack, was born. That was the time the first pound of ore was shipped to California from Bingham. So Charley, as he came to be known took up mining and the greater part of his early manhood was spent working and teaming in and around Mercur and Sunshine. In May 18f8, he married Ann Walters and raised their family of seven here in Fairfield. In 1920 Ann died and since that time Flack has stood cldie by his children, ever mindful of their wel fare, living and toiling for them Always he had a friendly attitude toward his neighbors. No matter whether his help was needed in civic matters, in sickness or accident, Flack was willing to give the best he had. and above all. to help in a friendly manner and not say much BANQUET FRIDAY, 24 The Lehi High School Booster Club wi.l 'hold their annual .banquet in the High School Building Friday, March 24. at 7 p. m.
