He was married to Hannah Timms on board the ship by President Chas. Penrose, A master mechanic, Mr. from Devey received his early training manufacin the his father, assisting ture of many early farm implements. He settled at Salt Lake, West Jordan, Alpine and Provo, later moving to Leha, in 1894, where he was active in helping get the Lehi sugar factory in operation. He had been employed at Ophir and was brought home two weeks ago and has been ill since that time. The Degelbeck family have been residents of Lehi for a number of years. He is survived by his wife and nine children. As the paper was on the press at the time of the death it was not possible to obtain details and dates. These will be printed next week. Afton Giles was numbered among one of the lucky deer hunters Wednesday, he bagged his buck in the low hills north of town. Mrs. 0. R. Voting at both places was done in a very efficient and quiet manner. Both parties nominated a ticket of Mrs. Austin, Mrs. Mable Roberts, Marvel Racker, Mrs. Niron Fowler, Mrs. J. E. Johnson, and Oliver Roberts. District No. 4 Jay N. Haws, chair man; Noble Evans, G. A. Wall, Abe James T. Goates, 80, died at his home here Thursday morning, following a several weeks' illness of couses incident to age. He was born in Lehi, February 17, Susan 1857, a son of William and Parkin Goates. He married Mary P. I.ossee in the old Salt Lake L. D. S. endowment house. She died here 10 years ago. Funeral services for James Goates were held Sunday afternoon in the First Ward with Bishop H. A.
