To them was born one daughter. Their happiness however was not to last long for the husband died about two years after the marriage. He had been kind with his wife and was very anxious that she and the child be provided for. so on his death bed he called for his younger brother Andreas, who was then in the government service, and asked him to take care of his wife and child, this Andrea promised to do. Berths did not wish to become a burden to anyone, and the family with whom she had grown up, loved her and appreciated her sterling qualities and were glad to welcome her back and also to provide for the baby therefore she resumed her work work with them. Soon however, Andeaas was released from the government service, they were married and for a few years they lived on a river or freighting boat It was on this boat that her oldest son was born. Then Andreas took over his father's farm, and his ife helped clear away the rock and shurbery. Around many of the farms are solid rock fences some two or three feet high made from the rocks which ad been cleared that houses might be built and land tilled. A soon as she was settled, a new responsibility was addd to her many duties, for she had her mother-in-lato care for. this she did for thirty years, until the old lady died at the Mr. and Mrs. age of ninety-twFredrickson had five sons, only two of whom are now living.
