Show Three Local Scouts Earn Eagle Award Syracuse 7A Lakeside Review North, Wednesday, January 2, 1985 Three area scout have earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Tyler Cox, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Cox of Layton, received his award at an Eagle Court of Honor on Dec. 6. He is a member of Troop 154 sponsored by the Layton 2nd Ward. He has served as patrol leader and senior patrol leader. He has received his a Trail to the Priesthood Award and his Faith in God award. He is president of his Teachers quorum. He enjoys the outdoors and all types of sports, fishing, hunting and archery. ' Teen Pageant Finalist ... i Sc 4 SYRACUSE S Chatter-to- n J Jerry G. Chatterton, 391 S. 3000 W. Syracuse, has been selected as a finalist in the 14th annual Miss Utah National Teen-AgPageant competition. Jason is the son of Bruce and Shirley Palmer of Kaysville. His construction crew of Scouts and a father built a storage unit at the LDS Bishops Storehouse in Kaysville as a service project. He plays violin and is a member of the Davis High Orchestra. He is a member of a Scout troop sponsored by the LDS 16th Ward. Finding a worthwhile project for earning his Eagle Scout rank was no difficult task for Doug Morrill, 14, of Sunset. He chose an idea that will serve his community for many years to come. Morrill, son of Eldin and Momll, 303 W. 930 N., decided to organize a fund raising to buy city fire truck number Girl Named JASON PALMER TYLER COX DOUG dance company, Ms. Chatterton enjoys dancing, sports, needle-wor- k and traveling MORRILL three an air horn. According to Deputy Fire Chief Larry Byington, the truck did not have an adequate horn on it for emergency situations. The young man organized a car wash which raised $54 to purchase the new air horn for the fire truck. Other boys from Scout Troop 302 of the Sunset Fourth Ward participated in the fund raiser under Morrill's direction. Morrill attends Sunset Junior &? d: Kk-Tjx zzF&ac o - KRISTI CHATTERTON High School. Morrill has been in the Boy Scout program for six years, and will receive the Eagle Rank in a special ceremony on Jan 5. His scoutmaster is LaMar Capener of Sunset.
