Show Society Thursday, April 12, 2007 The Gunnison Valley Gazette Obituaries Roberta Jean Paschal Christensen Roberta Jean Paschal Christensen, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home in Centerfield, Utah on April 7, 2007 at the age of 81. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 25, 1925 to James E. and Lucy Roberta Dimick Paschal. Through her life she lived in Seattle, Washington where she graduated from High School, and then moved to Salt Lake. While visiting a friend in Centerfield she met her future husband, Frank. They were married on Frank’s parents Silver Anniversary on October 12, 1945 in Centerfield. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on October 12, 1957. She worked at Hercules for 12 years while living in Magna and Lark until 1973. After raising their six children they moved to Centerfield where she resided, enjoying her friends and family for the rest of her life. After her husband retired they served an LDS Mission in Trinidad/Tabago. She is survived by her husband, Frank M. Christensen; brother, James E. Pascha Jr.l; children, Martin E. (Kathy); Michael F. (Sheryl); Niel L.; Larry D. (Nannette); Julie (Lee) Baxter; Raymond D. (Alison); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; Sister, Carol Woodward and Grandson, Gregory Martin Christensen. The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and staff and doctors at the ICU and all others that provided care for Jean at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. We would also like to express our thanks to Intermountain Hospice nurses and staff for all the fine care. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. in the Centerfield LDS Chapel. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com Eileen Anglin Allred “Mamma” Eileen Anglin Allred, 85, of Richfield and formerly of Gunnison, Utah passed away on April 8, 2007. She was born on June 19, 1921 in Swisher County, Texas to Russell Aubry and Rose Mae Wallace Stark. She married Elmo Anglin on May 10, 1938, in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1968. She then married William L. “Bill” Allred on January 25, 1992, in Richfield, Utah. She is survived by her Husband, Bill; children, Pat (Neil) Craft, Moab; Burl (Pamela) Anglin, South Jordan; Dennis (Christine) Anglin, Beaver Dam, AZ; Kelly Smith (Fiancé, Stan Jensen), Riverton; Bill’s Children, Deborah Christensen, Richfield; Michael (Lisa) Allred, Hurricane; Jerry (Alesa) Allred, St. George; 31 Grandchildren and 34 Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Elmo; her parents; her son, Kevan Anglin; son-in-law, Karl Christensen, a brother, a sister, a grandson and a granddaughter. After being neighbors for many years in Kearns, Bill and Eileen were involved in many community projects. They organized the original Kearns International Little League Baseball Program. Bill served as President with Eileen as Vice President. She was also a member of Adah Chapter #15 Order of the Eastern Star. After her first husband passed away she put herself through beauty school and opened a salon in her home in Gunnison for 10 years. After leaving Gunnison and moving to Salt Lake she went to work for First Security Bank where she later retired. Eileen then became part owner of the Shanty Shack Ceramic Store in WVC, where she enjoyed teaching ceramics. After marrying Bill, and moving to Richfield, Utah ceramics became their hobby. She was very supportive of her grandchildren’s sports activities and was an extremely avid Page 3 Weddings Fern D. Anderson 1915 - 2007 Richfield, Utah - Fern DeMill Anderson, age 91, of Richfield and formerly of Gunnison, died April 9, 2007 in Richfield. She was born April 17, 1915 in Manti, Utah, a daughter of Edwin and Hannah Elsie Nielson DeMill. She married Veldon Harmel Anderson, December 6, 1948 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple January 10, 1956. He died November 4, 2001. She attended Excel Beauty School and had her own Beauty Shop in Granger and Gunnison for many years and did hair until she was 75 years old. She loved crocheting and quilting and gave her handiwork away to everyone. She loved Indian Artifacts and collected Indian Dolls. She was a great cook and loved to cook and bake. Fern loved to ride snow mobiles and was riding them well into her 70’s. She was a member of the LDS Church. Fern is survived by her children: Rodney and Kathy Anderson of Gunnison; Vickie and Bill Dalton of Richfield; step-daughters: Joan Phillips and Connie Burk, both of Salt Lake City; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 sister and 2 brothers: Janet Jensen, Jerry and JaNeil DeMill, all of Centerville; Don and Vonelle DeMill of Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by two daughters: Carol Ann Anderson and ValRee Anderson. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2007 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah. On line guest book at: www. springerturner.com Missionaries Fjeldsted - Hill The parents of Denise Fjeldsted and Jake Hill would like to announce their marriage for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple, Friday, April 27, 2007. The couple will be honored with a wedding luncheon after the ceremony. Denise is the daughter of Paul and Julie Fjeldsted and the granddaughter of the late Austin and Gertrude Anderson and Bruce and Jean Fjeldsted. Jake is the son of Donald and Denise Hill and the grandson of Lester and Helen Hill and Elwood and Julia Sorenson and the late Nathella Sorenson. Jake and Denise are both recent graduates of Gunnison Valley High School. Denise is currently attending Utah Valley State College in Orem, and Jake recently returned from serving an LDS mission in Rapid City, South Dakota and is now attending Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City. The couple plan on furthering their education and will live in Greenville, South Carolina for the summer. They are registered at Bed Bath and Beyond, and Target. Jake and Denise, good luck and best wishes! Elder Tyler K. Christiansen Tyler K. Christiansen, the son of Kenneth and Patty Christiansen of Axtell, will return home from serving in the Kenya Nairobi Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 18th. Elder Christiansen will speak in the Axtell Ward Sacrament meeting, at the Centerfield Church, on April 22nd at 1:30 p.m. Tyler is the grandson of A. Valine Christiansen of Mayfield and Camilla Brown of Sigurd. What a small world! Jazz Fan. Eileen enjoyed traveling with Bill, going on motorhome trips with their friends, and spending the winters in Beaver Dam, Arizona. She was baptized and became a member of the LDS Church on July 22, 2000 and received her personal endowments on October 25, 2001 at the Manti Temple. Our precious Mamma has gone home to Heaven after suffering a battle with cancer. We will never forget her quick witted, honest ways. She was and always will be the heart of this family and whether here in body or spirit, our family will always be strong and close because of what she has taught us. Mamma had an unconditional love for everybody, and boy did she love her grandkids, and many greatgrandkids. We will miss her dearly, but we know she will be watching over us and anticipating the day we will be together again. We Love You Mamma. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com Josh Hales of Salina and Tyler Christiansen of Axtell grew up just ten miles away from each other but never knew each other until they met in Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa, a half a world away. They were companions in the country of Tanzania, which is part of the Nairobi Mission, for a few months. Elder Hales returned home in January and Elder Christiansen will return home next week.
