Show JANUARY 11,2007 BRYCE VALLEY AREA NEWS 2007 GARFIELD COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING DATES > ...by Vtcki D. Syren 679-8687 or vickidiane36@hotmail.com Congratulations to Walon Brinkerhoff and Kami Mortensen on their engagement. They tell us that they have not set a date yet and both are attending College. Kami goes to Dixie and Walon is at SUU. We are excited for you both and wish you the best in the future. Ran into Trish Thompson and Rosa Lee Thompson in WalMart the other day and they gave me some very interesting news. Rosa Lee has been called on a Mission and will be going into the MTC in February. She has been assigned the Bulgarian Mission and is very excited about it. Her brother Marshall and his wife, Aubree are expecting their first baby in February and she is hoping they will have it early so she can see it before she leaves. Both Marshall and his wife are attending school at SUU and live in Cedar City. Trish is going to school at SUU too and is working towards a degree in English. We wish all of the Thompsons the best of luck in their endeavors. Others that we saw in Cedar were Done Baugh, and Colleen Comp and her daughter. Everyone went on Thursday so they could beat the snow storm that was predicted. Wade Moore is now in the MTC and preparing for his Mission in Puebla Mexico. It is a hard thing to leave your Missionary there and go home. You are used to having them around but they are so excited to go on their mission. Wishes go to Wade for a successful and great mission. Congratulations to our girls and boys Basketball teams. They both won their games and did a great job of doing it. The girls won over Piute and Waterford and the boys won the game with Milford. The teams are doing a bangup job this year and we wish them the best of luck in all their games. We send our condolences out to Floyd Richards, Helma Haas and Doug Ahlstrom on the death of Julius Dalley. Floyd and Helma were in-laws and Doug was a nephew. Julius lived here many years ago and was known by people in the area. He was a brother of the late Rachael Ahlstrom Jolley. Arthur and I had a very busy weekend. We went to Enoch on Saturday to see grandson, Makay Jensen baptized by his Dad and Bishop, Mike Jensen. Makay was so excited and there were 10 children all being baptized on the same day. Afterwards we went to a special setting apart session where Mike ordained(set apart) his brother, David Jensen, to become a High Priest. They had gotten special permission from their Stake Presidents for this to happen in Page 10 THE GARFIELD COUNTY INSIDER Enoch. Mike and David are our sons. Afterwards we had a nice dinner and then went to Richfield Utah. The next morning we went to Church in the Annabella 1st Ward where David was set apart as the 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric. It was a very exciting and emotional weekend for us. Stacie, Mike's wife, told us that the Enoch 2nd Ward has a special Court of Honor coming up where nine boys in the Enoch 2nd Ward are all earning their Eagle Ranks. Mike was their Scout Leader for years so he is quite proud of them and their accomplishments. Congratulations to Makay, Mike, and David. While we were in Church in Annabella we saw Shiloh and Mykelle Richards and their children, Keagan, Chauncey, and Abby. Mykelle is from Annabella and was in David's Ward when she and Shiloh got married. It is fun to see other people from our Tropic Ward when we go somewhere. Well has it been cold enough for you? Way to cold if you ask me. When does summer come? Is it time yet? I'm ready for the warm stuff. Hey, be sure to call in your news.
