Jim has served, as we say in The American Legion "For God and Country" and is, "Still Serving. America." God Bless You, Jim, I Love you and am proud to know you. Leigh von der Esch, managing director of the Utah Office of Tourism, will address tourism leaders in Garfield, Kane, and Washington counties in an effort to share Utah 's advertising campaign with public and private tourism partners. On Tuesday, January 9, von der Esch will address the Garfield County Travel Council and County Commission at noon at Ruby's Inn in Bryce. Tuesday night, she will meet with Kane County tourism leaders at the Kanab Library at 5 p.m. On Wednesday, January 10, von der Esch will be a presenter in the Washington County Economic Summit in St. George. "It's really important that we share our 'Life Elevated' brand with Utah residents even though we are mandated to run all of our ads outside of the state," said von der Esch. "We are encouraging our partners around the state to push the new brand to their clients as well." Tourism is an important component of economic development in all of Utah 's 29 counties. Preliminary figures for 2006 indicate that tourism generated $467 million in state and local tax revenues. Last year, the Utah Office of Tourism ran television ads in Denver, Las Vegas , and Los Angeles to promote Utah as a great summer destination. Print ads are currently running in national travel magazines, and winter television spots to highlight skiing are being aired in Los Angeles and New York . Sixteen non-profit entities in the southwest region of Utah have been awarded cooperative marketing funding totaling nearly $515,000. Our problems are man-made, therefore they may be solved by man. And man can be as big as he wants. No problem of human destiny is beyond human beings.
