The couple exchanged nuptial promises Dec. 28 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A WEDDING breakfast was held given by Susan Judkins, Vicki Hill, Todd and Susan Webster, Marian Laird and Janne Aebster. Susan Judkins was at the guest book. THE BRIDE graduated from Ben Lomond High School and will graduate in March from Weber State College. The groom is a graduate of Davis High School and is presently attending Weber State. The women wore red dresses and the men wore black tuxes. Alene Ipson was matron of honor with Charlotte Harris and Natalie Harris as bridesmaids. Fort Lane will be honored at an open house in recognition of her 80th birthday. She attended school The Christmas holidays were more special in a Kaysville home this year due to the 80th birthday of Frances Brodil McOmber, who was born Dec. 22, 1904. FRANCES immigrated from Czechoslovakia in 1937, to marry a former LDS Czech missionary, Calvin D. McOmber, Jr., in the Salt Lake temple. Frances was the first convert to the LDS Church to be baptized in Czechoslovakia, after her mother (who had been baptized in Austria) requested Pres. Heber J. Grant to send missionaries to her country. After residing in Pocatello, Ida. for 46 years she is now living with her daughter, Ruth M. Pratt, her John P. Pratt and their five children. Frances is the mother of five children, four of whom are living: George McOmber and his wife Carol of American Falls, Ida. who have six children; son Calvin and his wife Ann reside in Moses Lake, Wash, and have eight children; and Charles McOmber lives in Nampa, Ida. son-in-la- CHRISTMAS was always a wonderful time in our home, says Frances. "On the evening of Dec. 6th we celebrated St. Nicholas Day. St. Nicholas would come from heaven and bring candy and treats to all good boys and girls. Every year he would come and visit our home in person and interview my sister Jane and myself. I couldn't believe how beautiful St. Nicholas looked, all dressed up in a cloak of white and a crow n of gold (like the Pope wears). He knew everything about us and asked us if we said our prayers and obeyed our parents. I was always amazed at the knowledge he had of our personal lives. On his way to heaven after he left, he would leave us candy, which we found the next morning on the plates we had left for him on the window sill. We later found out it was our mother who hud dressed up as St. Nicholas; no wonder he knew us so well! Christ Child) would come and bring us presents.
