Van Eaton and Mrs. Archibald Campbell. costumes, Easter and novel forms of entertainment were features of the luncheon given by the Salt Lake Mothers club at the Civic Center Wednesday to celebrate the clubs fifth PICTURESQUE anniversary. The guests were seated at small tables, each having a basket of violets and jonquils as a centerpiece, with the exception of the presidents table, which held the birthday cake, decorated in green and white and holding five green candles. The place cards were in the form of Easter eggs, with a tiny chicken perched upon them. Each bore a verse introducing the ;name of the guest whose place was .marked. A room decoration was a kewpie in Easter togs, seated in a chariot in the .shape of an inverted Easter bonnet, drawn by rabbit steeds. The program was introduced by two I i pleasing vocal selections by Mrs. Carl ;G. Porter, accompanied by Mrs. J. S. Stout. The president, Mrs. D. R. Lewis, then made an address, in which she announced that the club made a birthday gift of a $50 Liberty bond to the college loan fund of the Utah Federation of Womens clubs. ; five-year-o- ld G-- . o, Covers were laid for Mrs. D. Ensign, one of the club members, dressed in pink rompclub ers, impersonated the and recited a birthday poem. Berkley Skinner, a small colored boy, sang, Mighty Lak a Rose and several other tuneful melodies in response to enthusiastic encores. In two contests of wits prizes were awarded to Mrs. E. L. Fletcher, Mrs. F. C. Walk, Mrs. R. H. Ashworth, Mrs. A. W. Lowery, Mrs. A. E. Tomlinson and Mrs. C. C. Boswell. The guests drew for the birthday doll and it was Knox. Easter won by Mrs. W. bunnies were won by Mrs. F. W. Meakin and Mrs. H. J. Binch. Mrs. J. V. Jarratt, dressed as Mep-histdistributed humorous rhymes among the guests. Mrs. F. W. Meakin presented a poem as a toast to the club composed from the letters used in Salt Lake Mothers club. The committee on arrangements included Mrs. F. W. Meakin, Mrs. W. C. Hurd, Mrs. H. J. Binch and Mrs. Robert Peel.
