H. Pete Peters for this year. Contracts have already been signed by J. R. Gibbs, Lyle Johnson, Jimmy Cleverly, Grant Culllmore and Carl McConnell of last years Peaches team. Also Carter Cowley, son of Bill Cowley, has signed to play for the Peaches this year along with Clark Johnson, who played with the team three years ago. Some of the local talent working out with the ball club are Lee Simonsen, Junior Rasmussen and Dick Larsen and they are looking good in practice. The managers are also planning on Bas Williams to take up his chores on the mound with the team again this year. The, biggest need of the local Peaches baseball club Is a catcher. A catcher from the Intermountain Indian school is to play with the club this yearlybut as yet hasnt put In an appearance at the practices. Don Chase made it very clear that the Peaches management this year would like local boys to come down to the park and try out for the club. The American Legion district baseball schedule will be drawn up Friday night at Logan and next week the managers of the Junior baseball teams will meet to draw up their schedule for the summer. A boy must have turned in his contract to play Junior base ball or on the American Legion baseball team. All hoys who turn In' their contracts will be placed on , a Junior baseball team sponsored ofKt-waniby the Rotary, Lions, clubs of Brigham City. They will have their regular practice sessions and start league play as soon as school is out This league will have two or three games before the Ameri can Legion season opens and E. II. Pete Peters will have had an opportunity to look over the field and choose the best play ers to participate on his Ameri can Legion team. With this type of organization, there will be some 80 boys have an opportunity to play baseball In Brigham City with 16 getting the chance to play on the allstars which will be the Legion team representative in this dis trict. It will also aid in teach ing baseball to the younger boys because there will be four add! tional coaches helping to teach and Pete will take over the pal ishing of the Legion squad. The age limit this year will be 14 years or over to Legion age limit. This will not interfere with the Made-You- r league which plays boys up until they are 13 years of age. Brigham City will have plenty of baseball for boys this summer, but the boys will have to take the first step, and that is to get their contracts signed and turned in to the l office or Venial Harris office at the high school.
