We are going through the old newspapers Red Wilson gave to Mrs Jim Mayer to glean the important facts in the development of our community. We are going to meet at the Senior Citizens Center every Wednesday at One O'clock to check out papers from the 1920's to the present time. There is some wonderful history recorded in these paper but it is a difficult task for a handful of people to do by themselves. One day we covered eight years of history so you can see what we could accomplish if we had a larger group participating, it wouldn't take long to complete the task. I'm sure all of you would enjoy reading this history and we can expedite the work of the writers if we have all this information at their finger tips without them having to go through all of these papers by themselves. We have been given a $300 grant to help with expenses and we can match that grant by credit given by volunteers. The city, schools and businesses have agreed to let us use their copiers to copy these papers but we need some expertise in this also. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! We have accomplished many things over the years when we ave a" jmed together in various projects for the community. row is tne time to make a record or tnese accompnsnments ana those of others who worked so hard to make this a good place to live. We have a very unique history. You will enjoy being a part of this project!
