The party, to be held at the Community Center, will begin at 6:30 p.m., with Santa in attendance to give an appearance at 7 p.m. with treats for all of the children. The post and auxiliary are also to discuss further plans for an adult New Years party to be held by the group. Santa waves a cheery greeting to the children of Kearns. Santa came to Kearns last Friday amid the sirens of the fire truck on which he rode and the cheers of the eager children awaiting his arrival. He talked with many of the children and had a treat for many more that he didnt have time to talk to at that time. 's Contribute Towari Community Decorations On the morning of Sunday, November 29, members of the Kearns JCs started a task, at the wee hour of 7 a.m. of stringing the Xmas lights on the poles at the shopping center. With the help of Darr t, Gene Andrews, Jerry Har-war- d, Lind-hard- Farrol Lambert, Orin Hunter, LaVar Allred, and Urb Gebo, the job was completed by about 12 noon. Thanks is extended to the telephone company for the use of a truck and ladder utilized in the completion of the project. If the community is able to acquire a tree for the holidays, this too will be decorated by the JCs in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce. Thanks is also extended to the Utah Power & Light Co., who are furnishing the electricity for the holiday lighting program. The week of January 20th through the 26th has been set aside as Junior Chamber of Commerce Week. At this time the DSA Distinguished Service Award to the outstanding young man in the community will be presented, it was announced by Gerald Lindhardt, vice president of the Kearns JCs. During this week members will feat Bob Harrison, Christmas Traditions By Monroe P-T- A Citizens are requested to reserve Thursday, December 10, to attend the Monroe PTA Christmas program, the theme being Christmas Traditions. The program is to be presented by the intermediate 4th, 5th and 6th grades, it has been announced by Lamar Dew, chairman of the program. The program is to start at 7:30 p.m. at the school. Elder Dyer was in the superinyouth tendancy of the world-wid- e program of the Church when he received his new church appointment in October, 1958. Prior to that, he had served as a ward bishop, stake high councilman and mission president. He followed the engineering field in connection with a distribution business. Each of the nearly 300 stakes or regional divisions of the Church holds a conference four times yearly. Speakers will report on the expanding missions of the Church here and abroad and give counsel concerning the youth program, priesthood quorums, relief society, and welfare programs. A lecture is also scheduled to accompany the film. Lauran Gray, 24, 4641 W. 5015 South, were held Wednesday, at 2 p.m., at the Kearns North Stake House, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. He died Sunday at 7:20 a.m., in the LDS Hospital, of a heart ailment. Born April 3, 1935, in Magna, to Alvin and Golda Spencer Gray. April 8, 1959, he married Anna Arlene Hansen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. n Lauran Gray was his area this for throughout Liberace impersonations. He has visited local hospitals regularly to entertain the patients. In the recent roadshows, sponsored by VFW well-know- Post 9322 of Kearns, he has acted as Master of Ceremonies. Mr. Gray was president of the Utah Liberace Fan Club. Sunday, a few hours after his death, an eye surgeon performed eye transplanting operations on two blind persons.
