She attended the Irving Junior High at Sugarhouse and then went on to the old S. D. High School. From there she went on and graduated from the University of Utah in 1937 with a B.S. degree in elementary education. She taught one year at the little town of Kanarraville, in Iron County, then decided to become a bride. On October 12, 1938 she was married to William Barr Brinton Empire and they have become the proud parents of six children. The eldest daughter, Shawna, is going to the University of Utah, majoring in physical education. The second girl, Sharon, is now taking, her tests to become a beautician. Bill attends Iordan High. Hammond and Cathy go to Midvale Junior High, while Annette, the baby of the family, goes to the Union Elementary School. Eight years ago Mrs. Brinton started back in the teaching profession to help keep the wolf from the door. Of that time she has taught five years at Kearns. Now teaching fourth grade at West Kearns.
