Show N EW JUDICI AL DISTRICT. Considerable local interest is felt in the bill introduced in the Senate by Mr. Edmuuds for the creation of a Fourth Judicial District for Utah. The bill has passed its second reading. It is very brief, the following being the text in full: Be it enacted by the senate and house of representatives of the United States of America in congress assembled: assem-bled: That the governor and legislative legisla-tive assemby of the Territory of Utah be, and they are hereby, authorized author-ized to establish a Fourth Juuicial district in said territory, and to readjust re-adjust the districts in said territory in such a manner as to best promote the convenient administration of justica therein. Sec. 2. That as soon as may be after the. execution of the power con-f con-f erred by section one of this act, the Supreme Court of said territory shall assign one judge to each of said district?, dis-trict?, and shall have power from time to time to change such assignment and to provide for occasions of disability dis-ability or absence in such cases according accord-ing to the practice now authorized by law. |
