Call, manager of the Mountain States Electric company of Brigham City and active member of the Box Elder county Republican party, filed Wednesday for the Republican nomination for congress in the First Utah district. At present he is chairman of the Box Elder county Republican party. Call has announced he would resign the G.O.P. position to campaign for the congressional post. Call was the first in the state to file for representative for congress from the First Utah district from either the G.O.P. or Democratic party. However it is assumed that Walter K. Granger, incumbent representafor tive, will seek nomination the position he now holds on the Democratic ticket. During the war Call served in the U. S. navy. Prior to his enlistment he was chief of police in Brigham City lor four years and was active in Young Republican organizations. Upon being discharged, Call entered the electrical appliance business at the Mountain States Electric store in Brigham City. Active in veterans organizations he is a member of the American Legion, post 10, in Brigham City and the Atnvets. He is a member of the Lions club and of the Box Elder Cham, ber of Commerce. Having served an L.D.S. mission, Call is active in church afof fairs and is now president the North Box Elder stake Mutual Improvement association. Mr. Call and his wife, the former Phyllis Jensen, of Brigham City, have four children.
